All of our trainers are CrossFit Level 2 Certificate holders and all three co-owners are Certified CrossFit Trainers (CF-L3) and CrossFit HQ Trainers. Our trainers embody the CrossFit ethos and know what it takes to dedicate a life to fitness. They realize that not everyone takes the same journey, as they themselves come from different backgrounds, and are ready to lead you on your own path towards health.


Paul Tremblay

CrossFit HQ Trainer
Certified CrossFit Level 3 Trainer

Paul is a member of CrossFit HQ Seminar Staff and has been doing CrossFit since October 2011.  He quickly established himself in the CrossFit community by making it to the 2012 Reebok CrossFit Games with his affiliate. Paul continues to compete and doesn’t plan on stopping any time soon.


Reza Mashkoori

Reza has been doing CrossFit since November 2011.  Reza stepped foot inside a local box with no formal knowledge of the sport and was offered a job shadowing a coach.  Reza’s career started with a passion for working with kids as an employee of the Boys and Girls Club of Ottawa. He hopes to bring CrossFit to athletes of all ages to help them live their best life.


Pete Shaw

A native of Manotick, Ontario, Pete found CrossFit NCR in June 2013 and was hired as a coach shortly after. His commitment to continued education in the field of health and fitness and experimentation with his own training prepare him for any challenge his athletes might be facing.

Derek, originally from Hawkesbury, ON, has been in the fitness industry for over 10 years. Derek has combined his love for golf with his coaching skills and now also specializes in mobility, stability, strength, and power exercises for golfers.


Kayley Walsh

Kayley is a sport and movement enthusiast. She played university rugby and continues to play within the Quebec Rugby League. Kayley currently works as a physiotherapist and as a mental performance consultant. She is very passionate about empowering others to maximize their potentials, both physically and mentally.


René Forestier

Canadian Armed Forces Veteran

A native of Alberta, René has been CrossFitting since 2006. He has integrated CrossFit into his physically demanding careers including Army Infantry Officer (Afghanistan veteran), Paramedic and currently as a Firefighter for the City of Ottawa. His training interests lie where he himself has garnered first hand experience: masters athletes, first responders, and military.


Brittany Jones

Elementary School Teacher

She started playing hockey at the age of 6 and finished off her competitive career playing for the University of Ottawa Gee Gees Women’s varsity team. In 2011, Brittany moved to Australia to complete her Bachelor of Education and was introduced to CrossFit.  Brittany currently works as an elementary occasional teacher in the Ottawa Catholic School Board.

Mohamed (a.k.a. Mr. Moe) has been doing Crossfit since 2014 as a long time member at NCR. He found Crossfit while looking for a way to change to a healthier lifestyle. Through Crossfit Mohamed found a passion for the sport of weightlifting for which he has competed as at the provincial and national levels. He is enthusiastic to share his passion with others and continues to help others improve and reach new milestones for themselves.
